Scalloped edge with gilding, blue transfer print of the Meadow Brook pattern.
Manufactured by W. H. Grindley in 1936-54
Face depicts a house and cottage by a brook with trees and birds and a man fishing.
Underside has printed maker's mark of sailing ship over "GRINDLEY / MADE IN / ENGLAND / MEADOW BROOK" Possibly with a "G" also printed.
Pottery company founded by William Harry Grindley at the Newfield Pottery, Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent in 1880. Earthenware and Ironstone China - particularly for the Canadian, United States, South American and Australian markets.
In 1891 the company moved to the Woodfield Pottery, Woodland Street, Tunstall.
