According to the blurb, this book is "the result of years of exhaustive research.' Miss Harriet Pepin boasts a French grandmother as the root of her fashion genius, an eponymous Academy of Fashion, and apprentice work in some of the Capital City's smartest custom studios. Immensely impressive. First published in the USA in 1942, this Funk and Wagnall reprint dates from 1947. This book starts with basic block patterns and teaches you all sorts of brutal 1940s variations, most of them heavily shoulder-padded.
